Child Protection Policy

TRIPLE-F recognises that it has a fundamental duty to protect all children involved in its programs and activities, or in cases where its programs and activities have an impact on children. This includes the duty to protect children from harm or risk of harm as a result of misconduct by TRIPLE-F staff or partners, poor practice, or the design or delivery of our programs and activities. This duty is conducted in compliance with Indonesia’s child protection laws, Law No. 35 Year 2014, as well as by adherence to Article 19 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) Year 1989. TRIPLE-F work towards a world in which young people can live in dignity and well-being, a world without poverty and injustice and inequality. TRIPLE-F  work with poor and marginalised young people, promoting human rights and justice, including child rights especially girls rights. We have a zero tolerance approach to child abuse and exploitative child labor. We respect children’s right to participate, and ensure priority is always given to the best interests of the child. This document describes our policy with regard to child safeguarding practices. TRIPLE-F follow in this respect the guidance being given by the Feminist organisasion in Indonesia, this policy complements the Code of Conduct for the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse which all TRIPLE-F staff adheres to. We recognize the following principles: (1) All children have equal rights to protection from harm and exploitative child labor. (2) Everybody has a responsibility to support the protection of children. (3) – We have a duty of care to children with whom we work, are in contact with, or who are affected by our work and operations.  (4) The partner organisations we work with have a responsibility to meet the minimum requirements on protection. (5) All actions on child protection are taken in the best interest of the child, which are paramount.  (6) We adhere to local and international child protection legislation in countries we are working, as well as international laws and conventions in relations to all forms of child abuses and child exploitation.
