At the heart of our program strategy is the vision of building a fairer, more socially inclusive world. We’re determined to turn that vision into action – and that means everything we do through our program, our values and our slogan must be underpinned by an absolute commitment to respect human rights in and throughout our operations. We believe that program can only flourish in societies where human rights are respected and protected. We recognise that program has the responsibility to respect internationally recognised human rights and the ability to contribute to positive human rights outcomes. Our efforts are grounded in the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights – which we are committed to implement. We believe that respecting human rights also helps our program grow responsibly. This Human Rights Policy Statement contains our overarching commitment to respect human rights, which is also echoed in other organisation statements. We take steps to actively embed this commitment and its overarching principles into the polices and processes throughout our program. This policy document outlines TRIPLE-F’s organisational commitment to respect human rights in all our operations, relations, and engagements and outlines TRIPLE-F’s key policies, procedures and mechanisms for clarifying expectations to employees, partners and social relations. TRIPLE-F operates in a variety of political and legal contexts in community level as part of the support to partners and communities. Using our leverage and through dialogue, TRIPLE-F will manage conflicts in line with international human rights standards or the higher standard, where it does not inflict additional risks to our staff, partners and the groups with whom we work. TRIPLE-F is committed to implementing human rights due diligence processes to identify, prevent, mitigate and account for potential and actual adverse human rights impacts, and will continuously seek to improve our response. Our stance on human rights is based on Feminist values that emphasise human dignity, and on internationally accepted human rights concepts and agreements. We aim to promote the human rights of young women and girls, LBTI+, youth with disabilities, minorities, abused and exploited people and marginalised young people. We support such young groups to enable them to defend their own rights. We also strive to influence decision-makers to encourage them to remove barriers that hinder the realisation of human rights, and to resolve the root causes of human rights infringements. Our human rights based approach guides all of our work. Human rights principles including universality, parity, equality, non-discrimination and responsibility are duly taken into consideration in the planning, realisation, monitoring and evaluation of all our work.
