TRIPLE-F’s Statement On the occasion of the World Day against Trafficking in Persons

On the occasion of the World Day against Trafficking in Persons, observed globally on July 30th each year, countries including the Republic of Indonesia commemorate this day to highlight that human trafficking is a grave crime that exploits women, children, and men for various purposes such as forced labor and sexual exploitation. This day also serves to raise awareness and prompt actions to combat this phenomenon.
For this year’s World Day against Trafficking in Persons, the United Nations has chosen the theme “Leaving no child behind in the fight against human trafficking. This theme emphasizes the importance of protecting
children and illuminates the various forms of human trafficking, including begging, forced labor, crime, and sexual assault. Recent statistics reveal that one in every three victims of this crime is a child, with a majority of
these children being girls.
